SHAONE short bio
Shaone, real name Paolo Romano, is a forerunner of italian Old School. Former and leader, with Polo and Dj Simi, of La Famiglia, neapolitan hip hop band born in latest 80's, one of the first to bring and increase the rap movement in Italy.
Shaone began his interest to the hip hop world with the writing art in middle eighties, than he dedicated to breakdance and rap until he met Polo (Alberto Cretara) and Dj Simi (Simone Gravagnuolo) and formed in 1988 the band La Famiglia.
Their way of rap influenced the whole "new partenopean school" and stimulated other groups to express themselves in the own dialect region. La Famiglia had the opportunity to promote its music on the principal Italian and international stages, with more than 1000 concerts in a decade of history. An experience that overtake the recording studio sessions. Just to name a few festivals: Italian P.I.M. (Italian music prize), Premio Tenco, Premio Ciampi and worldwide Urban Skillz in Zurigo They also opened Italian shows of WuTang Clan, De La Soul, EPMD, Das Efx, Mc Lyte, Beatnuts, and Tony Touch.
Among most important Shaone’s artistic experiences his collaboration with a Master of Neapolitan music and academic culture Roberto De Simone, still going on with theater works. Shaone joins in his lyrics and music the magic world of his land and contemporary electronic sounds.
